WHO’S THAT GIRL?!

I’m Talia, a millennial creative and wordsmith who’s passionate about telling stories that matter, defining wellness and success on my own terms, and finding balance and peace in the struggle to do it all.

What exactly does “doing it all” mean for me?

I make magic out of words through my boutique agency, Word Count Creative, where I help business owners, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders dress up their bold visions, unique perspectives, and brand messages with beautifully crafted, high-impact content that makes people pay attention. Think of my team and I like red lipstick and high heels for other people’s ideas.

I also get the absolute pleasure of serving alongside my best friend and Chief Hitmaker as the Vice President of her record label, Pull De Trigga Records. As a lifelong music lover and bona fide soca baby, it’s a dream come true to be able to use my marketing know-how and business acumen to help talented Caribbean artists sing their dreams to life.

The unique career I’ve built is all about helping brilliant people present their best selves to the world and turn their goals into accomplishments. I’m extremely proud of that work. But it often means I spend my time in the background, behind-the-scenes of other people’s dreams. This little slice of the internet is where I get to tell my own stories and speak my truth.

What should you expect from me?

As a 30-something woman, I’m old enough to have lived a little and learned a lot. But I don’t have everything figured out, and I’m learning just how many people are in the same boat. So, I’m using my blog to be transparent about the parts of life I’m still making sense of. This will be my space to . . .

  • Share my journey to finding holistic wellness, radical self-love, and lasting balance in a world that often feels upside down;

  • Celebrate my wins, reflect on the lessons in my losses, and highlight the lifelines that keep me afloat on life’s choppy seas; and

  • Untangle the messiness of mental health, Black womanhood, and creative expression with grace, humour, and gratitude.

I won’t promise you weekly posts. I can’t guarantee that I’ll share anything more profound than any other Millennial trying to make sense out of a life that didn’t come with an instruction manual. What I will promise is to be honest and human and give you a space to that know there are other people figuring it out, just like you.

And I hope that as I tell my stories and speak my truths here, I inspire you to do the same, whatever that looks like for you.

Let’s stay connected!

And remember: Tell your stories. Speak your truth. Always.
